Sweet Summer SAB Samples

Smiley from millan.netBaby it's cold outside! So how about some "Sweet Summer" samples to warm you up? Sweet Summer is one of this year's Sale-a-bration exclusive stamp sets. These images have such a whimsical touch and are so versatile. You'll be able to make lots of different cards with this set. Here are a few to inspire you.

The first one was made by Gwen Duckworth. Do you see how she kept this card from being too busy by repeating the colors in card stock & markers and then keeping the ribbon a neutral color? It's a great card! The next two cards were made by my buddy Cindy Westerink. This first one shows her thinking outside the box, which I love! This is the same image that Gwen used for her largest circle (without the bird - that's a separate stamp), but Cindy stamped it so it looks like you're looking at the bottom of a bush or flowering tree. She also used a diamond-shaped Texturz Plate to add some dimension to the white card stock. Just be sure to do this step AFTER you've stamped your images! Smiley from millan.netCindy's second card is basically monochromatic - but there's nothing dull about it! She used Peach Parfait, one of the In Colors. This is just such a happy card!
Cricket Thompson also made a couple of cards with this set. This one has a more subdued feeling - mostly because of the colors she used; River Rock and Marina Mist. The Marina Mist 5/8" Satin Ribbon adds an elegant touch.
This card has great texture to it! Cricket achieved that by using two different Textured Impressions Embossing Folders - Perfect Polka Dots and Petals-a-Plenty. Don't you just love how she accented the bumblebee? That's done by using our Build-a-Brad (pg. 187 IB&C). So simple but it really makes an image pop!
I don't know about you, but with the snow and cold we've had, I'm ready to think about flowers and spring and green things growing. Unfortunately, I think that's only going to be happening in my stamp room for the next few months, but with stamps like the ones in the Sweet Summer set, I think the time will be filled with happy and warm images. Get your stamps soon so you can bring a little sweetness into your own stamping life!Smiley from millan.net
