Notepad Holder made from Stamp Cases

An adorable idea that I've seen lately are these great notepad holders made from Stampin' Up!'s Clear-Mount Stamp Cases (pg. 192 IB&C). We made these at our Chalk-a-holics meeting earlier this week. You take one of our Clear-Mount Stamp Cases (also called a DVD case) and decorate it with Designer Series Paper and your choice of stamps and flat accessories. There is a thin plastic sleeve on the outside of the case that the paper just slides into.

We used junior size legal pads for the inside, but I needed to cut off about an inch from the bottom - they're just a tad too long. I bought the pads (package of 12) at a local office supply store and they cut them for me for $1.00. Can't beat that! The top of the pad is covered with coordinating DSP.
The above pictures are of the notepad holder I made. I totally CASE-d it from another demonstrator. I have been looking everywhere for the information that I saved to give her credit, but I can't locate it. If it's you, please let me know so I can give you credit! I love the look of this! This is Diane Kipp's pad with just a little bit started on it. She was going to go home and finish it. (And she's supposed to be sending me pictures of the finished product!) Both Diane and I used paper from the Love Letter pack.
Here is Emily Mullin's pad. She used the Sunny Garden DSP.

This is Judy Haney's finished pad. She used some DSP from the Ice Cream Parlor pack that you can get for FREE during Sale-a-Bration! The purses are made with the Create a Cupcake stamp set.

I don't seem to have any pictures of Sara's finished product, but I think she made one similar to the one I CASE-d.

Wouldn't this be a great gift for someone in your life? I love mine! It's so cute and so handy to keep on hand. Plus with the plastic sleeve, the paper is protected from the elements. I don't know who came up with the original idea, but I love it!

Until next time...

  1. What brand of paper pads are you using? The ones I'm finding are too long. kejujah@yahoo.com

  2. The pads of paper I used were also too long - I had to have them cut down a bit. I bought mine at Office Max in a package of 12 and they cut them for me at the store. I think they cut the whole stack for about $1 to $2. Let me know if you have any more questions!
