Another Great Year

Only 10 more days left this year to Sale-a-brate!  Don't find yourself like this because you missed out..
From Millan.Net
When I saw this stamp set in the Occasions catalog this year, I immediately saw lots of possibilities for it.  I love the bold strokes of the "Happy Birthday" image.  I already showed you one sample with this stamp set from the Upscale Swap Group.

These cards all have the same layout, but because the designer series papers are different, there's a subtle change in the "feel" of the card.

The two cards above were both made using the Kaleidoscope DSP, but different patterns from that pack.  The image is embossed with silver powder on white and also on Bermuda Bay.  The banners were then cut from the Bermuda Bay card stock and layered on top of the white image with Dimensionals.  Such a happy and cheerful card, isn't it?
 From Millan.Net
This card has the same layout, but uses the Retro Fresh DSP.  It's embossed with gold powder instead of silver, which seemed to look better with this paper.  I think it has a more masculine feel to it, don't you?
From Millan.Net
Which one do you like better?  I'm torn between both!  Until next time...

Upscale Swap Cards

It's been awhile since I've posted cards from the Upscale Swap Group.  Here are a variety of cards from one of our swaps this year.  I think they are from February's swap...
Peachy Keen and On Film Framelits Dies by Diane Kipp
Vivid Vases by Judi Cayton
Another Great Year by Lisa Horton

Yvette DuBord made this great stand-up calendar using the Retro Fresh DSP and Feel Goods stamp set.
Starburst Sayings with Starburst Framelits Dies and Watercolor Wonder DSP by Jayne (me!)
Decorative Dots Embossing Folder, Scallop Tag Topper Punch by Candy Leggett
Are you inspired?  I'm always inspired when I get the swaps from this group!
Until next time...

Burlap and Blooms Wreath

I'm sure none of you have ever done this, but I have occasionally overlooked items in the Stampin' Up! catalogs.  I guess I get so excited over one thing that I completely miss some others.
 From Millan.Net
Take the Burlap and Blooms Simply Created Wreath Kit on page 21 of the Occasions Catalog.  I just took a quick glance at it and went on my merry way.  That is, until a group of friends decided we should get together and make the wreath.
From Millan.Net
This wreath is so pretty - and all you have to do is assemble it!  The flowers are die-cut from designer printed paper (you simply need to punch some of the circles out), the Burlap Ribbon is included, along with buttons, brads, and Linen Thread!  Everything you need to create this wreath.
 From Millan.Net
Here's a close-up of some of the flowers...
Those "fluffy" flowers with all the little pieces sticking up?  They are the easiest ones to assemble.  Honestly!  The only problem I had with the wreath was burning my fingers with the hot glue, but that's probably operator error.  Ha!

So if you've completely overlooked that wreath in the Occasions Catalog, go check it out right now.  You'll be glad you did!  Until next time...

Sale-a-bration Cards 2014

This is the last month for Sale-a-bration 2014 - it ends March 31st.  You've only got a little more time to Sale-a-brate Stampin' Up! style!
From Millan.Net
In honor of Sale-a-bration, I have some more cards to share.  I don't know who made these particular cards.  They were from Leadership.  I didn't go this year, but my friends who went generously let me look through their cards and take pictures.

So which item is YOUR favorite?  I'm loving the Sweet Sorbet Designer Series Paper.  I don't think the picture in the Sale-a-bration catalog does it justice.  It's just gorgeous!

Until next time...
