Canvas Art

Don't forget to check out Stampin' Up!'s retiring stamp sets and accessories from the 2012-2013 Catalog.

From Millan.NetFrom Millan.NetFrom Millan.Net
I've wanted to show you this wonderful canvas art that some friends and I made awhile ago.  The design came from Stampin' Up!  It was one of the extra classes that you could take at Convention last year.

Speaking of Convention, Stampin' Up! is celebrating their 25th Anniversary this year - and Convention promises to be even more of a blast than usual (if that's possible)!  I'm going to be there and can't wait!
From Millan.Net

Below is the canvas art that we made.  It's pretty much all done with various Designer Series Papers and buttons.  I'm not a painter by any means, so this was perfect for me!
From Millan.Net
The canvas frame was covered with the First Edition Specialty DSP, which was then painted along the outside edges with blue acrylic paint.  The top left and bottom right corners have the Distressed Dots background stamp stamped with Craft White ink.
From Millan.Net
The flowers were made by punching out scallop circle shapes from various Designer Series Papers and then folded into the different shapes.  Some of the centers have Naturals Designer Buttons added.

Here are some close-ups of a few of the flowers.

When mine was completed, it was a little bare at the top, so I stamped on our 7/8" Cotton Ribbon using the Distressed Dots and one of our blue inks (I don't remember which one - it was whatever came closest to the blue acrylic pain we used).  That was attached across the top of the frame.

The saying is from Trust God, stamped in blue on Very Vanilla card stock, and then punched out with the Decorative Label Punch.

It was such a fun day and we all came away with an adorable piece of art!  Hope you've enjoyed taking a look.  Until next time...

In Case of Emergency...

The retired stamps and accessories lists are out!  Don't wait to check them out.  I don't want you to miss out on something that has been on your wish list and react like this.
 From Millan.Net

My friends know me well.  I recently received a package in the mail from my friend Yvette.  Check out what she sent me...
Isn't it great?  Besides an adorable card, she sent me CHOCOLATE!!!  (I especially love the "Emergency Chocolate")
 From Millan.Net

Here is a close-up of the card.  She used the Million-Dollar Moments (hostess set) from the Spring Catalog).

I don't know if you can actually read what it says on the Emergency Chocolate.  It says:
For immediate relief of:  Chocolate Cravings, Lovesickness, Exam Pressure, Mild Anxiety and Extreme Hunger.
Directions for use:  Tear open wrapper, break off desired dosage, and consume.  Alternatively massage into the affected area.  Repeat dosage as required until finished.  If symptoms persist consult your local confectioner.
Hey, I can do that!  From Millan.Net

So just in case of future emergencies, I thought I would try this...
From Millan.Net
Do you feel the need to send me some chocolate?  I think you should!

Until next time...

All Dressed Up and Retiring Stamps and Accessories

 From Millan.Net
Stampin' Up! has released the retiring stamp sets and accessories lists!  You can check out the lists by going to my demonstrator website at http://www.stampinup.com/ECWeb/default.aspx.  If you prefer, send me an e-mail and I'll be happy to send the lists directly to you.  The accessories are only available while supplies last - and some items have sold out already, so don't wait to check them out!
From Millan.Net
There is the cutest set of products in the Spring Catalog.  It consists of the All Dressed Up stamp set, the Dress Form Pop 'n' Cuts, Dress Up Framelits Dies, and the Card Base Pop 'n' Cuts.

When I was at the Creative Escape weekend earlier this month, I saw these adorable cards that some other stampers had created.  They graciously said I could take pictures of their cards, so I am sharing those with you today.  Unfortunately, I didn't get their names, so I can't give them credit for these creations.  If you're reading this and you are the creator of these cards, please let me know so I can give you credit!  They are gorgeous!

Just look at all of these adorable cards that were made with the Dress Up Framelits die.

The apron is made from the Tea Lace Paper Doilies.

What girl doesn't love a little shimmer on her dress?

 So pretty in pink!

(Love the "saucy" hat on her head!)

The Natural Composition Specialty DSP makes an elegant dress form on this card.

Need a wedding card?  This is perfect!
 From Millan.Net
Are you inspired?  These make such versatile cards.  You can use them for Mother's Day, Weddings, Thinking of You, Birthdays -- pretty much anything you'd like!  What do you think you could use these for?

Until next time...

Upcoming Stamping Classes

I am excited to announce some of my upcoming stamping classes.  If you're in the southwestern Michigan area and would like to come to class, these are for you!  If you're not in the area, but would like to participate, I can mail you all the materials for each class with written instructions.  The only extra thing you would need to provide is your own stamps and ink.  I am not allowed to stamp the images and send them per Stampin' Up! rules.

STAMP-A-STACK CLASS - Tuesday, April 30 at 6:30 PM
Come to class and make a whole stack of cards in one night!  We will make 10 cards with envelopes - 2 each of 5 different card designs that you can personalize for whatever you need.  Cost for this class is $20. Please RSVP no later than Sunday, April 28.  Your payment guarantees your spot in class.

SPRING/SUMMER BANNER - Saturday, May 11 at 10:00 AM
Make an adorable two-sided banner to add to your Spring/Summer Decor using papers from the Print Poetry Designer Series Paper Stack!  If you're coming to class and would like a sneak peek at what the banner looks like, just send me an e-mail and I'll send a picture.  The banner looks adorable hanging pretty much anyplace.  This project would also make a great gift.  (Mother's Day anyone?)  Class fee is $25 and includes all supplies to make both sides of the banner.  Price for class includes a full package of the Print Poetry DSP Stack (pg. 16 in the Spring Catalog).  You will have extra sheets of the designer series paper to take home with you - and this paper is adorable!  Space is limited to the first eight who RSVP with their payment for class.  You must RSVP by May 3 so that I have time to order the extra supplies for this class.

For all classes, please bring your own adhesive, scissors, and paper trimmer.  All other supplies provided unless noted otherwise.  I'm looking forward to stamping with you again soon!

And here's a quick card sample to keep you inspired.

More Upscale Swap Cards

The other day I showed you cards made with the Secret Garden stamp set.  Most of those had come from the Upscale Swap Group.  So today I have the "rest of the cards".  That needs to be said in the voice of Paul Harvey's "The Rest of the Story".

For those of you that are too young to know what I'm talking about, he was a famous announcer on the radio.  Yeah, radio - you've probably seen those in museums, right?
From Millan.Net
So without further ado...
Candy Leggett - Cross My Heart

Carmen Ramirez - Lacy & Lovely

Debra Currier - Mixed Bunch & Friendly Phrases

Sara Bolz - Henry Says & Wishes Your Way

 Yvonne Newborn - Swallowtail

And this card coming up has a surprise inside!
Laura Barto - Forever With You and One In a Million

The card base is made with the Pop 'n Cuts die with the Dress Form Pop 'n Cuts insert.

Close up of the dress.  It's cut from Silver Glimmer Paper.  So pretty - and so shiny!
From Millan.Net

Don't you just love the variety of cards and ideas?  It's like Christmas when that envelope arrives in the mail!

Until next time.
