Gift Bow Bigz Die Turkey

 

While I was away this weekend, I had the opportunity to work on a few projects that I've had in my "to do" pile for a bit.  I think you're really going to love the project I have to show you today.

 

Isn't he just the cutest?  Can you believe that he's made mostly with the Gift Bow Bigz L Die in the Holiday Catalog?  So clever!  The instructions for this cute turkey came from Kirsteen Gill. 

The most difficult part for me was finding the candy for the legs.  I had NO idea what they were, but one of the ladies at the retreat knew.  She said they were "Sixlets" (never heard of them).  So I headed out in search of Sixlets and found them at a local fabric/craft store.  They say that they're "Candy Coated Chocolate Flavored Candy" (note the "chocolate flavored" part -- meaning they're not real chocolate).  They're not M&M's, but they worked perfectly for this!

I was pretty tickled with how he turned out and am looking forward to having him decorate my house for the next month or so.  At least he doesn't have to worry about being eaten!
