What did I order first?

I was able to place my first order from the new catalog on July 1st and I've already had my things for about a week! Too much fun stuff, I'll have to say! Smiley from millan.net

I learned a few years ago to focus first on the new accessories. While there are definitely some stamp sets that I really want to get, I usually space my orders for new stamps out through the year so that I have something new and exciting to look forward to. I've found that if I order everything right off the bat, sometimes when I get around to using it, it doesn't seem as "new" to me. Does that make sense?

So anyway, here is my haul from my first order:

One of the first things I always order is a good supply of the new colors of cardstock plus reinkers for my stamp pads to keep them nice and juicy. I also ordered some of the new In-Color Stitched Poly Ribbon - this is such great ribbon, and you get a LOT of it!

Then I ordered some new DSP. Oh my goodness, there are so many gorgeous papers in this catalog that I didn't know where to start! I finally decided on the Lap of Luxury DSP (gorgeous paper in Pretty in Pink, Basic Grey, Concord Crush, and Very Vanilla) and the Sunny Garden DSP (bright, cheery paper with Poppy Parade, Daffodil Delight, Pear Pizzazz, and Peach Parfait). The Sunny Garden DSP has a coordinating stamp set called "Cottage Garden" (pg. 107). I got that stamp set as one of my free items with the order. I also ordered Patterns Designer Series Paper Stacks in the In-Color collection and Regals collection. I'm in LOVE with these patterns! I don't think there's one that I don't like! I had to get some of the new buttons and brads. It was SO hard to choose, but I finally decided on getting the buttons and flower brads in the Regals. Look at the colors below - aren't they luscious?

The new Basic Rhinestones and Basic Pearls (pg. 188) were also a must have on my list. I can't wait to play with these! I also ordered some different ribbons. I'm sure I'll eventually end up with every color and every type, but for now I just tried to get a variety. Oh just wait until you see all of the new colors of 3/8" Taffeta Ribbon that we have! There's Rich Razzleberry, Pumpkin Pie, Real Red, Marina Mist, Early Espresso, and many, many more! (See page 191 of the new IB&C.)

Of course I had to get some of the new punches - especially the new Two-Step Owl punch. He is too cute!! Smiley from millan.net

There were some other things that I got, but these are the highlights. I did get five stamp sets, but they were all FREE!!! Don't you just love free???

If you don't have your new catalog yet, please let me know and we'll work out arrangements to get it to you. You can also check it out on-line by going to my Stampin' Up! website at www.jaynestamps.stampinup.net.
