2011 Desktop Coaster Calendar - July, August, September

Ah, into the summer months. Right now with the cold and snow it's hard to believe that we'll be hot in just a few months. No matter what, I'm ready with my calendar though!

July is my birthday month! But because of the 4th of July celebration, I usually make my July calendar pages in patriotic colors. The background DSP is Night of Navy from the Regals Patterns DSP Pack (pg. 175 IB&C). The two stars are punched with Stampin' Up!s small and extra-large star punches. I then took a 2-way glue pen, ran it around the edges, and sprinkled Dazzling Diamonds glitter on each star. There is a small clear rhinestone brad in the center of the stars for a little more bling. (You can never have too much bling, right?) Smiley from millan.net
August's page uses some Elegant Soiree DSP. I was trying to go for a bubble/swimming look. Smiley from millan.net Don't know if I exactly got the concept across, but I like the way it turned out. There are three of the Bitty Buttons (pg. 186 IB&C) on the lower right-hand corner with some linen thread tied on them for the extra accent on this month.

Even though none of us have any kids going back to school in September, we all agreed that this Play Date DSP was perfect for this month! And because owls seem to denote wisdom, it seemed appropriate to have an owl watching over September. (Two-Step Owl Punch pg. 200 IB&C.)
