Pines & Poinsettias Samples

Today's cards feature the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set from the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Did you realize that you only have ONE MORE MONTH to order from this mini?  You'd better get in gear to get these great stamps and accessories before they are gone!

But really, no need to panic . . . yet!  You can calmly go to the phone or go on-line and place your order anytime - as long as it's before January 3, 2012.  And if there's anything that you would like your Santa to bring you, you can have him (or her) contact me.  I'll even gift wrap your items for them!

Well, on to the samples I have for today.  The first one uses the Peekaboo Frames Bigz L Die from the mini catalog with a Silver Glimmer snowflake on top.  The snowflake was cut with the Northern Frost Sizzlits Decorative Strip Die.  I have a tip to make cutting these easier:  because the Silver Glimmer Paper is thick and Sizzlits dies are thin, this will cut much better if you separate the back paper from the front of the Silver Glimmer before you try to cut it with the Sizzlits die.  The Silver Glimmer Paper cuts fine with any of the larger dies (Bigz and up) because they have a deeper cutting blade.
Here is the inside of the frame, showing the pine cone.  The shimmery, striped DSP is from the Holly Berry Bouquet Specialty pack (only in the Holiday Mini Catalog!) and the ribbon is 3/8" Velvet Stitched Ribbon in Very Vanilla (again, only in the Holiday Mini Catalog).  It's soft and fuzzy and the perfect accent for so many things.  The Merry Christmas is from Four the Holidays - a great set of four stamps that you'll keep on going back to again and again.  (That one is in the big Idea Book & Catalog on page 168.)

The second card uses the same image from the Pines & Poinsettias stamp set (can you tell it's my favorite of the set?).  I used Dazzling Details glitter glue on top of the pine cones to add some interest and sparkle.  That was then punched out with a circle punch (the exact size escapes me right now), then layered onto some Garden Green cardstock that was punched with a slightly larger circle punch, and then layered onto a decorative circle cut with the Perfect Pennants Bigz L Die out of Cherry Cobbler cardstock.  The Whisper White cardstock behind it had some texture added with the Stripes TIEF.  And there's that Frostwood Lodge DSP with some Early Espresso 3/8" Quilted Satin Ribbon.  Can you see the shimmer of that ribbon in this picture?  I LOVE this ribbon!  (Both the Frostwood Lodge and the Quilted Satin Ribbon are only available in the Holiday Mini Catalog.)
So don't forget to tell your Santa what you want from Stampin' Up!  I'll be sure to have your goodies ready and prepared for Santa to deliver them to you on Christmas morning.  But s/he needs to let me know what you want before December 15 so I have time to get things ordered.  Or if your Santa prefers, I have gift certificates too!  Then you can go shopping for yourself!

Until next time...
