International Chocolate Day! (Oh, and those gorgeous ornaments!)

I found out this evening that September 13 is "International Chocolate Day!" And I almost missed it!  Good thing I always have some type of chocolate around here to celebrate with!
I hope that you had/get an opportunity to celebrate ICD.  I think if you missed it on Thursday, it will still count if you celebrate on Friday!

I'm sure most of you have seen the beautiful ornament that is on the cover of Stampin' Up!'s Holiday Catalog.  When a group of stampers from Michigan got together to do some stamping recently, one of the make-n-take projects (designed by Emma Fewkes) was a mini version of that ornament.  So here is my very first ornament.

Side view to show you some of the depth.
It really wasn't difficult, but I was teasing Emma over the days about it being such a lot of work to cut out all of the pieces.  I kept singing the "Winkie Chant" from the Wizard of Oz whenever I saw someone working on the project.  You know, "O-Ee-Yah! Eoh-Ah!."  Remember that scene?  It always gave me a chill when I watched it.  I hope that Emma knows I was just kidding.  Smiley from millan.net

When I first looked at the full ornament, it was a bit overwhelming, but there are some wonderful video tutorials and other step-by-step instructions on making these.  So I got together with my downline Sara and we each made one.  For my first one, I think it turned out pretty good!
SUPPLIES:
Ornament Keepsakes Bundle (Ornament Keepsakes Stamp Set and Holiday Ornaments Framelits dies)
Cherry Cobbler and Old Olive dye inks
Very Vanilla Cardstock, Candlelight Christmas Specialty DSP
3-1/2" Cherry Cobbler Scalloped Tulle Ribbon, Linen Thread
Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Basic Pearls
Designer Rosette Bigz XL Die
Multipurpose Liquid Glue (this works like a dream for this project!)

On Saturday I have some ladies coming over to each make one of these.  I'm looking forward to trying my hand at making another one.  This time maybe I'll have to come up with another color - maybe something for fall?  Whatever I do, I'm sure I'll be back to show you!

Until next time...
