I have been busy working on making card swaps to take to Stampin' Up!'s convention next week. I'm getting so excited - Convention is always so much fun! I am making a couple of different card designs to swap because there are other demonstrators there who will have multiple card designs and sometimes I can't choose just one!
Here is one of my swaps. I used the new Flower Fest stamp set and the Paisley Petals DSP. I have multiple colors because I used different pieces of the designer series paper.
This card is made with Tangerine Tango cardstock:
The flowers and leaves were stamped, and then "colored in" using sponge daubers. It looks like I'm a really careful color-er, right? Well actually, I made a reverse mask and used that when I sponged the flowers and leaves. A reverse mask is made by stamping the image on a small piece of paper and cutting out the inside of the image. Then lay the paper over the stamped image and sponge color on top. It gives a great soft look to the image.
Same card in Marina Mist:
I also have the same card design made in Bravo Burgundy, Old Olive, and Always Artichoke with Daffodil Delight flowers.
I'll be back later to share more samples of what I'm taking to swap. I'm also working on my roommate gifts, but I can't show those to you until after next Tuesday when my roommates get their things. Can't wait!
Until next time...
