Cards from 10 for $20 Class - Group 2

As promised, here are the other cards we made in class last week.

This first card was designed with Debra Daam.  We were stamping together a few weeks ago when she was getting ready for her 10 for $20 class and I liked this card so well that I used it for my own class!  We used the Stitched Stockings stamp set with the coordinating Stocking Builder Punch, Red Glimmer Paper, Frostwood Lodge DSP, and the Scallop Square Bigz Die to cut the piece of Marina Mist cardstock.

Oh yes, and there's a Basic Rhinestone in the center of the design on the stocking.  It just looked a little plain without it.  You know, it needed some more bling!  Smiley from millan.net

The last card design was made with the Gently Falling and Perfectly Penned stamp sets.  The colors used are Cajun Craze, More Mustard, Pear Pizzazz, and Soft Suede.
To make this card, we stamped the saying onto the Very Vanilla cardstock and some scrap paper.  We then took the scrap paper and tore around the saying.  It was attached to the card using Dotto (so it could easily be removed).  After the scrap paper was adhered, the line images were randomly stamped on the card stock and then they were "colored in" by using sponges.  When the desired look had been achieved, the scrap paper was removed. This is one of those techniques that I did a long time ago and just re-discovered it.  I love the bright, fresh look!  And there's no layering on this card except for the Soft Suede behind the Very Vanilla.  So, it's a very quick and easy card with a great "punch" of color.  You should give it a try!

As you can see, even simple cards can look great.  You don't always need a lot to make a great card.  Sometimes just going back to the basics - stamps, ink, and cardstock - can be a refreshing change.

I hope you've enjoyed seeing the cards we made!  Until next time...
