Aviary Card and Name Tag

I think that my favorite stamp in this year's catalog is the Aviary stamp set. I just love those little birds and the different shapes of the cages! Smiley from millan.net

This is the card that I took to swap at the meeting last Saturday. The bird cage is stamped with StazOn ink onto a window sheet and cut out. The bird is stamped directly onto the Very Vanilla CS and then the "cage" is attached over the top by inserting a brad through the square of Lap of Luxury DSP and Concord Crush CS. The layout and idea for this card came from Regina Cornelius who posted a card on Stampin' Connection, which is a place on the Stampin' Up! website for demonstrators to share ideas, tips, cards, and lots more. There are so many wonderful ideas there!

We were also supposed to make a "tricked-out name tag", so this is what I came up with. Since I was already in the Aviary mood, I just used the same basic idea to make my name tag. The only different was that I had to stamp the birds onto cardstock and cut them out and then glue them to the back of the cages. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out!
