Basket made from Fancy Favor Die

It's always so exciting to see the on-stage presentations at Convention and see what cool things the artists have created. One adorable idea this year was taking the Fancy Favor Bigz XL Die and making it look like a woven basket!

I have some pictures to show you how. I didn't write down any instructions because it's fairly simple to see how they did it. Plus, I'm sure that Stampin' Up! will have the instructions on their demonstrator website for us to download. Why re-invent the wheel?

Here's a sample of a few all done up. Aren't they adorable?

Here is a picture of how the basket was created. The Fancy Favor box was cut out, then strips of varying widths were cut down almost to the fold. The artist then took strips of cardstock - again cut to varying widths, and just wove them between the cuts. You can also see in the picture where the Sticky Strip was applied to assemble the basket when the weaving is done.

One other tip, when you're done with the weaving, take a little bit of SNAIL adhesive and secure the ends of the strips (white in the picture) so they don't slip out.

And here is the finished project:
Of course, it's much cuter with some flowers inside the basket. Did you notice the little flower at the bottom of the handle? The center of that flower is one of our new Designer Printed Brads. Love those!
And here's another basket made to give as a "thank-you" to someone special. Wouldn't you love to get one of these? I think they are just too cute!So what kind of basket can you create? I'd love to see pictures if you make one! Until next time...
