Thinking of graduations and what to give the graduate, it seems like gift cards are always a popular choice. So a couple of other projects from Thursday's class were gift card holders.
The first one was a CASE of one that Connie Babbert made and posted on her blog in December 2010. This is a "sleeve"-type holder with an insert.
I love the use of the Two Tags Bigz die to make the insert to hold the gift card. Very clever idea. We used the Love Letter DSP on this one. This is one of the Designer Series Papers that is retiring, so if you like it, you'll want to order it ASAP!
The second gift card holder has been floating around the internet. I don't know who the original creator was, but I got the idea and pattern from my friend Cindy W. (Hi Cindy!)
This folds up and has a belly band around it to keep it closed. The section where the gift card goes is cut out with the Top Note Bigz Die. Some people are so clever! The DSP used on this one is Woodland Walk. Again, this DSP will be retiring soon so if you like it, don't wait to get yours ordered!
Here's a shot more from the front with the holder open.
By the way, the "gift cards" in my samples are the ones that they send you in the mail when they want you to sign up for some new credit card or something. I always use things like that in my samples. That way I don't feel like I'm wasting anything.
So now you have a couple more ideas for graduation cards/gifts/etc. so you don't have ANY excuse not to make something special for the graduates in your life!
Until next time...
